| 10:13 am | Things are my parents' house has gotten a little crazy. My baby brother is finally going to college and I feel like he's packed up the whole house. At least that's what it seemed like when I tried to go visit. I think when he remembers that he's not even leaving town, he'll unpack a little of it. I'm still trying to figure out a dorm warming present for him. I keep getting very sentimental when trying to shop for something and it gets very distracting. Any ideas? |

| 5:09 pm | My first crush was a little different than most people's. He wasn't the boy in the sandbox, or the neighbor kid, in fact he wasn't even a real person. My parents considered reading to be extremely important (part of the reason I never got in trouble for reading at the table), and each night one of them would read part of a book to me. One of the first ones I can remember was The Secret Garden, and with that book came my first crush. I loved the character of Dickon and the way he was with animals and I longed to find a boy like him in real life. I still haven't found my Dickons yet. My first real crush was in first grade. He was the best friend of the boy my best friend was dating and we spent a lot of time together while they held hands in front of us. He was a little bit shy, and like me was used to being the sidekick for a much louder person. We didn't talk much, but he was cute and we were both okay with just sitting next to each other. When our friends broke up a couple weeks later I was 'banned' from seeing him and I don't think I saw that much of him again even though we still were at the same school. I don't remember his name at all, but I still remember those couple weeks together. |
